Welcome to all Quality professionals, and also to those who would like to become one!

Thank you for visiting our website.

This site is the home site of the Toronto Section of the American Society for Quality (ASQ) - a section of about 2000 members who are quality professionals of various levels and in many different industries or businesses. We are all interested in promoting Quality, and we offer a number of different ways to do this, such as meetings, training, networking, etc, as you will see by browsing the site.

Passing of Shyam Banik

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Shyam Banik

The Toronto Section is extremely saddened to have to report the passing on Tuesday September 9 2008 of Shyam Banik.

Shyam was a long time member and enthusiastic supporter of the ASQ. He held a number of positions on the Toronto Section including Forum Chair and Section Chair for two consecutive years(1986/1988) prior to leaving Toronto for North Carolina on a transfer from Northern Telecom(Nortel).

He was an active supporter of the Koalaty Kid program and was instrumental in establishing a pilot programme in Brampton. Shyam submitted many papers both to our local Forums and to the Annual Quality Congress. Shyam was an active member of the Audit Division as well, he taught CQA refresher courses and also submitted a number of questions for the CQA examination as well as having a statistical program for sampling adopted by ISO. Our sincere condolences go out to his family.
